Projet sur la justice économique pour les femmes : Examen de la façon dont les femmes profiteraient d'un revenu de subsistance garanti (pdf; 468kb, )

IMPORTANT CLARIFICATION:
In a review of the Women's Economic Justice report on July 22, 2006 in the Vancouver Sun, Daphne Bramham infers that the Report recommends that there should not be a GLI for people new to Canada. She got it backwards. Women were concerned that people new to Canada might not be able to access the GLI and that they absolutely should be able to. She misunderstood one of the points in under the Concerns section of the report.

Women's Economic Justice Report on Guaranteed Livable Income

A project of the Women's Livable Income Working Group c/o the Victoria Status of Women Action Group (SWAG).
Report prepared by Project Coordinator Cindy L'Hirondelle.
Hard copy released April 2006, Digital version released June 2006

Note: This is not a quantitative research project or survey. The report documents discussions that formed a sort of grassroots women's think tank to examine the benefits, particularly to women, of a Guaranteed Livable Income. The project intended to look beyond current, and almost universally dominant, proposed solutions to poverty -- economic growth, jobs, daycare and welfare. Read more about the rationale, goals and background on the project.

Request for Feedback before October 30, 2006
