The following is a guide, please follow the directions contained in the information package for the particular bursary.

JOHN & MARGARET TWINING
THEOLOGICAL BURSARY

Criteria

Established by the Parish Council of St. Andrew’s Church, Sidney, B.C. in loving
memory of John and Margaret Twining, in recognition of many years of service
to the Anglican Church of Canada.

Objectives

To further promote the mission and principles of the Anglican Diocese of British
Columbia. To encourage theological training for the further service of our Lord.

Suggested Guidelines

Applicant must be an active member of St. Andrew’s Church, Sidney, BC.

Applicant must be a Canadian Citizen or a Landed Immigrant.

Applicant must be entering or continuing a course of Theological Studies.

This Bursary is conditional on acceptance at the college of the applicant’s choice
and will only be awarded after proof of Registration has been received in the
form of a receipt for fees or a letter from the college indicating registration is
complete.

KEITH TUCKER 
MEMORIAL BURSARY

Criteria

Established by the Parish Council of St. Andrew’s Church, Sidney, B.C. in loving
memory of Keith Tucker, in recognition of many years of service to the Anglican
Church of Canada.

Objectives

To further promote the mission and principles of the Anglican Diocese of British
Columbia. To encourage further education/training for members of this
Diocese.

Suggested Guidelines

Applicant must be an active member of St. Andrew’s Parish, Sidney, B.C.

Applicant must be a Canadian Citizen or a Landed Immigrant.

Applicant must be completing his/her Grade 12 year and must use the Bursary
within 18 months of the presentation date (i.e. June 30th, 2008 –
Dec. 31st, 2009).

Applicant must show a commitment to service in his/her church and community.

Applicant must be entering a recognized course at a post-secondary institute
i.e. university/technical/community college in Canada.

This Bursary is conditional on acceptance at the post-secondary institute of the
applicant’s choice and will only be awarded after proof of registration has been
received in the form of a receipt for fees or a letter from the institute indicating
registration is complete.

Candidates will be evaluated on the following:

Applicant’s letter on the importance of Service in his/her life.

Importance of the Anglican Church in his/her life.

References from their Parish Priest.

Reference from outside community i.e., Principal, Counsellor, Teacher.

Service/volunteer involvement.

Scholastic achievement.

Additional interests and activities.

Please note, completed applications must be sent too “The Bursary
Committee”, St. Andrew’s Church, 9691 Fourth Street, Sidney, V8L 2Y8, 
and to be received NO LATER than May 23, 2008.

References should be sealed by the writer and not opened by
the applicant. Applicants will be notified of the results by June
30th, 2008.

 

 

JOHN & MARGARET TWINING  
MEMORIAL BURSARY

All qualifying applicants will receive a bursary.

Criteria

memory of John and Margaret Twining, in recognition of many years of service
to the Anglican Church of Canada.

Objectives

To further promote the mission and principles of the Anglican Diocese of British
Columbia. To encourage further education/training for members of this Parish.

Suggested Guidelines

Applicant must be a member of St. Andrew’s Parish, Sidney, B.C.

Applicant must be a Canadian Citizen or a Landed Immigrant.

Applicant must be over 18 years of age, enrolling or continuing in postsecondary
education and must use the Bursary within 18 months of the
presentation date. (I.e. June 30th, 2008 – December 31st, 2009)

Applicant must show a commitment to service in his/her church and community.

Applicant must be entering a recognized course at a post-secondary institute
