Movable Monument Project: Finlayson Point / Horseshoe Bay. Victoria, British Columbia.

At 8:00 AM, June 16, the tide at Finlayson Point was at one of its lowest points. The relatively early hour was chosen to take advantage of morning light preferalbe for its low angle and warm colour as well as the low-low tide. A large area of seabed, exposed by the receding tide, presented an excellent opportunity for the first multi- sculpture movable monument project. Video footage, (Bob Henkel) and 35mm slides (artist) documented the project. For the first time, a few people from Victoria's art community were invited to attend.
